An image of my studio. I am in the process of creating work for my exhibition in May with Diedericks/Faber in Johannesburg. Its wonderful to be surrounded each day by growing images of people I adore, larger than life. I have completed 9 works so far and have another 5 to go.

Painting complete
So the portrait of Liza is complete and needs to go to the framers. I have been offered exhibition space next year at Blackbox in Cape Town to exhibit the series which I am hugely pleased about! Dates to be confirmed, but hopefully early on in the year.
The process of painting Liza has been an interesting one as she has the studio space next to mine and so has been privy to her image growing huge apon an orange page. She is a great inspiration to me in many ways and has offered very constructive criticism when I have asked for it, as have all the other wonderful artists who share Eastside Studios with me- Frans Smit, Swain Hoogervorst, Sally Berg, Marna Hattingh, Chris Slack, Kilmany-Jo Liversage, Elize Vossgatter, Julita deWet and of course Liza.
