My work for SPI National Portrait award..
I have started a new painting and have been keeping a photo diary of the progress at the end of each day. The painting is in oil onto brown paper and measures ±1.2m x 1.8.
I am loving the process of working onto a 'passion' pink base colour, and the abstraction that comes with oversizing the portrait. Today I started painting a marshmellow pink over the background passion pink to give the face space to breath more quietly.
Still loads of work to be done, especially on the neck/shoulders/arms and chest area and of course his vest.
