Kul-Sharif Mosque in Kazan (Russia)

I was commissioned to do a painting of the incredibly beautiful Kul-Sharif Mosque in Kazan, Russia. I completed it today. It is the largest Mosque in Europe and was named in honour of the Head of the Kazan Knanate who got killed during the defence of the citadel. The Mosque was destroyed in 1552 by the troops of Ivan the Terrible and reconstruction only started in 1996.
